ABOUT GRACIENOON

Art has always been an important part of my life’s journey. Growing up, my ideal birthday and Christmas presents were art supplies and craft projects, tools which allowed me to flex my creative muscles and find new ways to express myself. I dreamed of one day owning a business in which I sold my handmade creations. At 30 years old, I finally made this dream a reality.

I’ve dabbled in a lot of different art forms, but it wasn’t until 2017 I discovered macrame. A year later, I finally went “all in”, which was quite an investment because quality macrame rope is quite pricey. As I tied (and untied) countless knots, I discovered a meditative quality to macrame that I found both soothing and inspirational. Tying these knots helped me untie the knots in my soul, and I quickly caught on to spiritual truths and lessons within the patterns I created.

In 2018, I decided to begin selling my artwork and named my business The Graceful Birch after a special birch tree on our property. In November 2019, during a particularly intense and revelatory Mercury retrograde, I realized I needed to rename my business, and that’s when GRACIENOON magically happened.

My current focus is on macramé, but I also enjoy working with felt and making jewelry. I love incorporating natural elements into my work such as crystals and feathers, and most of my macramé wall hangings are made on local driftwood or branches I’ve gathered from our property. My artistic interests are broad, including knitting, crochet, and collage. One day I plan to start weaving and I’d love to get into journal making as well, especially because I love to write! Aside from being a fiber artist, I am also a writer/blogger, musician, avid gardener, and lover of nature.

It is my intention and hope that my artwork inspires you to find joy wherever you currently are on life’s journey.
